IP change monitoring resolves your domain's A record on each check and alerts you when the IP changes. Catches unexpected CDN failovers, BGP route changes, DNS misconfigurations, and potential hijacking.
⚙️How it works
Uptrue resolves your domain's A records using public DNS and compares the primary IP to the stored baseline. If the IP changes, an alert fires with the old and new addresses.
✓What Uptrue checks
- Primary A record IPv4 address
- All resolved A records
- DNS resolution success
⚠Alert conditions
- Resolved IP differs from stored baseline
- DNS resolution failure
Why this matters
IP changes are expected during CDN migrations, but unexpected changes may indicate DNS hijacking, misconfigured DNS, or infrastructure failures that route traffic to the wrong server.

?Frequently asked questions
Does it monitor IPv6 too?
Currently monitors IPv4 (A records). IPv6 (AAAA) support is on the roadmap.
What if we intentionally change our IP?
Update the monitor baseline after the migration. You'll get one alert on the change, then the new IP becomes the new baseline.
